A first good tip is to start your car and turn on the air conditioning to cool the car down before letting your pet get inside. Now that the car is on with the keys in the ignition it is easy for them to be locked inside. Crack a window just enough to allow your arm to fit through in the event it locks. Never leave your dog unattended in your car, most of the calls that we receive with this situation is because they left the dog alone and it jumped up and accidentally hit the lock button on the door.
